CHIPSSC08T
Mezzanine clock synchronization module CHIPSSC08T is built in compliance with the FMC High-Pin Count 400 form factor and perfectly suits for the use within AMC, VPX, PCI/PCIe, CompactPCI base boards. The module performs external synchronous timing of ADC or DAC modules using eight independent radiofrequency channels up to 5.5 GHz.
The module is built upon wideband HF frequency synthesizer produced by Texas Instruments. The strong points of the synthesizer are low phase jitter level and integrated voltage controlled oscillator. Integrated high-stable temperature-compensed oscillator (25 MHz) or external reference timing source with HF front panel connector (5-1400 MHz) can serve as reference timing source.
Frequency synthesizer adjustment and timing source choice are managed by the control program of the base board through the FMC HPC connector. The clock module is fitted with the extra line for FMC and reference timing source control. The output synthesizer signal is split by the IC with low interchannel phase shift (Microchip Technology) providing the maximum total incoherence of eight output channels to be less than 20 ps. Optional matching transformer mount makes it possible to work within 2.5 – 5.5 GHz output frequency. The CHIPSSC08T clock module is equipped with extra frequency synthesizer output (RFoutB) for several clock modules synchronizing. The phase and the frequence of the RFoutB output signal may differ from the other eight channels. This timing signal is also connected to the FMC HPC connector. The SPI interface is used for frequency synthesizer and splitter control.
The module is fitted with the integrated status monitoring system (crystal temperature, voltage) accessible by the I2C interface.
